Your Health, Your Nails

I'm sure you never expected to see those two thoughts in the same title: your health, your nails. But I would like to pass on a little tip that you might find too good to be true. A while back as I was shooting my show, A Healthy You,' on Fox News, I did an interview with Dr. Robert Bard.

Dr. Bard runs a premier cancer center in New stork City. He is a radiologist - not just any radiologist, but probably one of the best radiologists in the world. People travel from every continent to see him.

Besides being able to tell whether a tumor is cancerous without a biopsy, or whether a spot on your skin is a mole, wart, cancer spot, sunspot, or parasite, he's able to diagnose many potential health issues by looking at your nails.

Your nails!!! And my story is that he did this for me.

While I was interviewing him for my show we were talking about using the nails to diagnose possible and potential diseases. At one point he looked at my nails and told me that I was having a thyroid issue. I was skeptical, simply because I had just had a hair test that told me my thyroid was performing optimally.

So naturally, I dismissed this. I thought maybe I just banged my nail. But my hair was falling out - much more than normal - so much so that I didn't like washing my hair because it would come out in handfuls. Now you could toss off hair loss to hormones, heredity or stress, but my issue happened to be a completely different one.

In the days after interviewing Dr. Bard, I went to my ortho bionomist, Gary Lee Williams, for my periodic adjustment. While he was working on my neck, he noticed my cervical vertebrae was pushed into something that was pushing on to my thyroid and stressing it. I looked at him shocked because I said that I had just been told by someone who looked at my nails that my thyroid was having an issue. He said no problem, he could push it back into place - which he did.

Two days later my hair stopped falling out! So, my point here is that sometimes you think you're doing everything right - I had my thyroid checked with a hair test - and it came back with the results of my thyroid being in good condition. Dr. Bard told me I was having a thyroid issue, but because I had tested my thyroid and the results said it was good condition, I thought I knew all there was to know. And then I found out that my thyroid was stressed because it was out of position.

Dr. Bard then went on to say that he could figure out the pathology of many different diseasesfrom the condition of a person's nails. For example, he told me that a staggering 6 million people have psoriasis, yet 3 million of those are under-diagnosed. Using the Doppler allows early detection and prompt treatment of this disease, thereby preventing deforming arthritis.

Imagine that deforming arthritis could be avoided simply by checking your nails. Many people ask me for simple ways to keep healthy - simple ways with immediate results. Well here is one way: check out your nails!

Warm Regards,

Carol
